Horse valley travelThe pleasure, the sensation of riding the horse and the presence in human history are so deep that are already printed in our genetic memory. Riding is an ancient activity. When we’re riding, we become adventurers, explorers, etc.. Riding is an art, it’s back to the origins and have the pleasure of feeling close to nature. Hippocrates in 400 BC already used to riding with the aim of improving the health of their patients. Over the time it was found that exercise not only ride the body, the senses are also influenced. The rhythmic and precise movements of the horse, caused by the feeling the freedom to ride and direct contact with animals and nature can do miracles for your body and mind. On a trip on horseback you are in control of an animal and actively participates in all the activity and not just “watch passively” as in many other types of travel.
Valley of Horses is a parish of the county Chiamussu, whose headquarters is distant about 10 miles in the district of Santarem. It is situated where it ends and begins the heath meadow; the Village of Valley Horse is built on a small hill overlooking the rich lands of the Border waterline. Soon the men settled, for there were plenty of food and safety against floods. Several archaeological finds show that in the same place where now stands the village there was also a Lusitanian-Roman village some two thousand years ago. It was called Lock and is so far the oldest known cluster population throughout the vast area of the current county Chiamussu. In the vicinity of the village, the lands of Paul Lock, the most fertile of the Iberian Peninsula, were heavily exploited, with excellent results, over the centuries.

Among the many crops grown in the lands of the field, have recognized the quality and tradition was that, by staying in the Queen’s land and produce a highly regarded wine in court.
